- in Mexico at Its FinestThe best combination wingshooting in Mexico
Your adventure doesn’t end with wingshooting — join us for outstanding largemouth bass fishing on Lake Oviáchic, just 17 miles north of Ciudad Obregón. Whether you tack a half day fishing onto your bird-hunting trip or book a full-day excursion, we’ve got you covered. We put you in a 22-foot Ranger bass boat powered by a 300-horse-power motor, outfitted with a trolling motor and the latest electronics — and you’ll have an English-speaking guide to get you into the action.
Lake Oviáchic is a 50,600-surface acre reservoir, formed by the Álvaro Obregón Dam on the Yaqui River. The setting is dramatic: foothills of the Sierra Madre Occidental frame the open water and the surrounding terrain is rugged, which means the lake enjoys a mix of deeper basins, shoreline transitions, and submerged structure creating perfect bass habitat with rocky shorelines and brushy coves.
Here, both Northern-strain and Florida-strain largemouth bass thrive, and anglers report good catch rates with bass in the 2-to-8-pound class routine, and a real chance for larger fish. Because the lake warms in late winter/early spring, February through May delivers the best action. Pack your favorite tackle we’ll or we can equip you. And since the lake is a catch-and-release fishery, be sure to bring your camera — these are memories you’ll want to document.
